“In the fight against cancer, time is precious. Every minute is like an hour, every day is like a week,” says the former guitarist
Former Duran Duran guitarist, Andy Taylor spoke to 5 News about his battle with metastatic prostate cancer. It all started four and a half years ago when “I was jogging and I started having an arthritic kind of pain … then I noticed what looked like lumps in my neck,” he said.
Last November, Taylor was unable to attend Duran Duran’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “You lose all your testosterone during treatment. I bet most men don’t get it,” he noted.
Simon Le Bon read the letter sent by the musician during the ceremony, in which he revealed the illness for the first time. After that it was “great love from the world and support”.
He adds that while “there are some new treatments that can help me,” he’s committed to the idea that “I’m going to live my life.”
“I’ve made three albums since then [που διαγνώστηκα] and I gave some concerts, which were fantastic. I often tell people, “In the fight against cancer, time is precious. Every minute is like an hour, every day is like a week,” Taylor concluded.
