Spacey’s retrial is scheduled to take place in London in June

With the award “Mole Antonelliana” the Turin Cinema Museum awarded him actor Kevin Spacey for his overall contribution to cinema, according to the AP.

“In presenting this award you stand up for artistic achievement and for that we should applaud you,” the actor told organizers, days after appearing in a British court where he denied allegations of sexual assault.

He didn’t hide his emotions, telling the roughly 400 guests who attended the event at the iconic Mole Antonelliana tower, home to the National Cinema Museum, how “blessed and grateful” he felt. He thanked, among others, his family, his manager Evan Lowenstein (Evan Lowenstein) for his support calling him “the brother I never had” and he also expressed his gratitude to Italian director Frank Nero for his role in the film “The man who dreamed of God” which was filmed in Turin.

After the award, the actor answered questions from the audience about acting and also talked about the 1999 film “American Beauty”, for which he won his second Oscar.

Spacey’s new trial is scheduled to take place in London in June.
