Ludmilla decided to vent on social networks this Wednesday (18), after suffering yet another racist attack. She denounced having been called a “monkey” by a profile identified as Aurora Elegante on Twitter and vented: “I’m tired of this shit already!”
The singer retweeted the publication and recalled the recent law signed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), which equates racial injury to the crime of racism. She also promised to take action against the authors of the post: “Ludmilla macaca flopada, hablo mismo”. The interpreter of “Maldivas” and “Rainha da Favela”, then, reinforced that she will not remain silent. “Now that the president has signed the bill that classifies racial slurs as the crime of racism, they will get what they deserve.”
It didn’t take long for her to receive several comments lamenting the episode. “This is absurd and I hope these people get years in jail,” commented one internet user. “You really sue, Ludmilla. I am a witness that attacks are frequent against you”, recognized another follower and the third completed. “The 42 people who liked the tweet and should also run.”
This was not the first time that the singer suffered from racial offenses. In early 2017, presenter Marcão do Povo, at the time hired by Record TV, called her “monkey” and “poor”. In March 2020, Ludmilla spoke about the matter and denied an agreement. “There will be no agreement, there will be no conversation, I’m going to the end,” she said. She was also being sued by Marcão.
In 2016, during a coverage of Carnival in 2016, Val Marchiori said that the singer’s hair looked like “steel wool”. She even sued the socialite, but lost the action. In March 2021, the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro accepted the appeal of the also presenter against the conviction in the amount of R$ 30 thousand for moral damages.
Days later, the funk artist lamented the result of the sentence on the networks. “I’m not giving up and it’s not just for me. I have visibility, I have proof and I’m still going through this. Can you imagine who is anonymous? I can’t and we can’t give up.”
