Nicole Bahls, 37, was shocked when she received a visit from Federal Police and Ibama agents on Tuesday (17) at her farm, in the municipality of Itaboraí, in the metropolitan region of Rio. They went to find out the information that the presenter had two little monkeys won as a gift from her boyfriend Marcelo Viana. The couple even presented documents proving an alleged legal purchase, but the police discovered that the paperwork was actually false and the animals came from wild animal trafficking.

“I am very sad. It was a shock to be investigated for animal trafficking”, began Nicole regretting the episode. “I don’t know if anyone reported it, but the fact is that the Federal Police and Ibama came to my house to apprehend Mikal and Davi. They just didn’t leave because the agents saw that they were safe here. Now, they’re going to follow up of the pets until they can be qualified to return to nature”, said the also model to the F5 this Friday (20).

Mikael and Davi are almost five months old and were bought by Marcelo three months ago for R$60,000 each. “Before buying, Marcelo did a lot of research and discovered that there was an ‘authorized breeding site’ in Maricá [próximo a Itaboraí]. In our head, everything was cool and it wasn’t. We were deceived”, justified the ex-panicat who even avoided posting photos of the little monkeys precisely so as not to encourage the crime of animal trafficking.

“I already knew that when famous people say they have a wild animal, they end up, unintentionally, encouraging people to also have a little monkey or a macaw, for example. This causes some people to traffic animals. of them not to condone this crime’ analyzes

Nicole continues. “These criminals kill the mothers to take the little monkeys off their backs and sell them. The Ibama policeman told me that sometimes they kill 30 to 40 mothers at once”, observed Nicole, who was the champion of Power Couple 4, from Record , with ex-husband Marcelo Bimbi, in 2019 .

“I cried a lot and that served as a lesson. I decided to help Ibama and make my farm available for rescued animals. Of course I am devastated and I know that in a while Mikal and Davi will leave, but I want to be able to help the authorities to that this doesn’t happen anymore. They want a wild animal to treat with love and respect, do it in a legal way and supervise the authorized breeders”, concluded Nicole.
