by

The presenter Marcos Mion, 42, arrived at the Santuário de Aparecida, in São Paulo, this Thursday (23) after a pilgrimage of 110 kilometers on foot. The artist left Paraisópolis, in Minas Gerais, and traveled the Caminho da Fé, the official route for pilgrims.

“Those who are pilgrims know the intensity necessary to handle so many ascents and descents, holes, rocks, mud, high sun and torrential rain (these two alternating every half hour) in this short period. It’s very difficult. I’m destroyed”, he said in his Instagram post.

“But at the same time, I’ve never felt this strong spiritually. It sounds like an incongruity, I know, but that’s if you don’t know or don’t believe in the mystery,” he added. He started the pilgrimage on Tuesday (21st), to fulfill his promise to join Rede Globo.

The presenter goes on to say that the walk was difficult, and that he faced “hard knees, lacerating pain, blisters on his feet, ankle burning with every step”. He goes on to say that he didn’t have the strength anymore, and that he was “holding back the tears, controlling me because I have to continue the program.”

“I walked and cried! Loud! No control at all. Screaming with tears… what an indescribable emotion. What strength. Our Lady, I love you mother. Thank you for so much and for walking beside me. I know I’m not alone. No pilgrim is.” , completed.

The artist arrived at the Basilica accompanied by his wife, Suzana Gullo, and children. On his Instagram account, Gullo also paid tribute to Mion. “I know what you’ve been through. Especially in life, to get here. I know how much we’ve suffered, how much She held us in Her lap, how much she protected our marriage and our love. We always accept, deliver, trust and thank. And I will always be on your side,” he said.

In the caption, she said that the presenter decided to pay the promise at the last minute, because it had to be this year, and that he decided to walk 40 kilometers a day. “At the first stop, he already called me crying. From emotion, fatigue, pain, all together and mixed,” he wrote.

“Bubbles on the foot, no one expected so much uphill, rain, hole, exhaustion. But in crying there was a lot of gratitude, and that’s when he began his path of pure connection, immersion, gratitude to Her, our mother,” added Gullo.
