The video of the officers was not filmed for surveillance purposes, but rather for social media
The New York Police Department has denied allegations that officers videotaped fans leaving Drake’s concert at the Apollo Theater in New York last weekend.
Police sources told TMZ that the police video of the concertgoers was not filmed for surveillance purposes, but rather for social media. The sources said the video will be used for a post showing police working directly with security at city venues to keep fans safe. They also clarified that the police officers seen in the video are from the Community Affairs sector.
“The officer shot the video for an upcoming Twitter post that will feature local community events. The video will not be used for any other purpose,” the NYPD said in a statement.
