The singer’s announcement on social media about the cancellation of his tour with Judas Priest

Ozzy Osbourne appears to be retiring from touring for health reasonsas he announced in a statement regarding the cancellation of his European tour with Judas Priest.

Osborne performed at halftime of a Los Angeles Rams game last September and is up for four awards at the upcoming Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

The 74-year-old heavy metal singer has been plagued by multiple health problems in recent years, causing several tours to be postponed or canceled. The cancellation of the concerts, which were scheduled for May and June – some four months away – seems to indicate that his health problems are quite serious.

Ozzy Osbourne’s statement:

This is, perhaps, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans. As you may all know, four years ago this month, I had a serious accident where I damaged my spine.

My one and only goal all this time was to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three surgeries, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions and most recently the breakthrough Cybernics (HAL) treatment, my body is still weak.
I am truly honored by the way you all have patiently held onto your tickets all this time but, in full awareness, I have now come to the conclusion that I am physically unable to perform my upcoming European/UK tour shows as I know I wouldn’t be able to handle the travel required. Trust me, the thought of letting my fans down really CRAZY ME, more than you could ever imagine.

I never could have imagined that my touring days would end this way. My team is currently working on ideas for where I can perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.

I want to thank my family…my band…my team…my old friends, Judas Priest, and of course my fans for their endless devotion, loyalty and support and for they gave me the life I never dreamed I’d have.

I love you all…»
