Donald Trump says Alec Baldwin purposely shot at filmmaker

Former US President Donald Trump, 75, said actor Alec Baldwin, 63, may have purposefully shot Halyana Hutchins (1979-2021). The actor was on the set of the western movie “Rust” in New Mexico when he received a backup gun that police said killed the filmmaker and injured writer and director Joel Souza, 48.

“In my opinion, he had something to do with it. How do you pick up a gun, whether it’s loaded or not, point it at someone who isn’t even in the movie and pull the trigger, and now they’re dead,” he told the television program. Christ Stigall’s radio, this Thursday (4).

“Even if it was loaded, and that’s a strange thing, maybe it did,” he continued. “Who would put a gun, ‘Here Alec, here’s your gun,’ would stand up, point it at a person and pull the trigger, and, ‘Oh man, a bullet came out,’ they’re dead. So there’s something wrong with him. He’s a sick guy,” accused the former president.

Trump also criticized Baldwin’s behavior with the press. “I’ve watched him for years. He gets into fights with reporters. I mean, whatever he does, he’s a volatile guy. He’s a freak,” he argued, before criticizing the actor’s handling of the situation.

“If they handed me a gun, I would never point it at someone and shoot. I don’t mind checking the gun. They deliver a gun that you won’t point at anyone,” he said, stating that in Baldwin’s place, he was in a set outdoors, would have pointed the gun in the air.

Trump also commented on Baldwin’s parodies of him in the humorous Saturday Night Live, especially while he was at the head of the Presidency. “He was terrible at imitating me and, by the way, if I thought he was good and didn’t like his politics or him, I’d say he was good, but it was terrible.”
