Gillian Anderson: Asks women to confide in her about their sexual fantasies – Watch video

“Our deepest and most personal fears and fantasies remain locked inside us. Until someone comes with the key”, says the actress in her message on Instagram

Gillian Anderson she invited women around the world to contact her anonymously about their sexual fantasies.

Anderson, who plays outspoken sex therapist Jean Milburn in Netflix’s hit series Sex Education, posted a video on Instagram and explained that she’s “starting a big exploration of women and sex.”

Sitting in a burgundy armchair, the 54-year-old actress looked relaxed as she asked women to send her their “most personal wishes” for a book she is preparing.

The Golden Globe winner said: “The woman who has won the Golden Globe is the first to write her own fantasies in the book. As women we know that sex is an important chapter in our lives, but many of us don’t talk about it.

Our deepest and most personal fears and fantasies remain locked inside us. Until someone comes with the key.

Well, here’s your key. I am editing a book of your anonymous letters to me. A book that explores how women think about sex, because sex is about femininity and motherhood, infidelity and exploitation, consent and respect, justice and equality, love and hate, pleasure and pain’.

Anderson, who rose to fame in the 1990s playing agent Dana Scully on “The X-Files,” wrote an op-ed in The Guardian newspaper this week explaining the motivation behind her unusual request.

In this he cited the book “My Secret Garden: Women’s Sexual Fantasies”, which, he says, “was revolutionary, even provocative”. Although it was published in 1973, Anderson stated that she only read the book in 2018 in order to prepare for taking on the role of Milburn. “His unfiltered and painful honesty shocked me,” she said.
