The presenter Celso Portiolli, 54, gave some surprising news to fans this Tuesday morning (28). In a video posted on Instagram, the commander of Domingo Legal (SBT) announced that he has bladder cancer, diagnosed in December of this year.

“I’m here to talk seriously with you, it’s important news about my life, I think it’s the most important news I’m going to share with you,” he began. He also pointed out that some of his friends and relatives also didn’t know about the disease until the Instagram post.

“I had bladder cancer found at the earliest possible stage, which is good news,” he said. “I underwent an endoscopic treatment to remove this polyp [crescimento anormal de células], and now I’m going to have to do a treatment inside the bladder, an immunotherapy called BCG.”

Before talking about cancer, the presenter made it clear, smiling: “Don’t worry, there’s good news, I’m very optimistic and with great faith.”

“Because the chance of cure is close to 100%, look at that. That made me very relieved. And during the treatment I’ll have an absolutely normal life, I’ll continue going to the gym, my television programs”, he said.

Portiolli presents two programs on SBT: Domingo Legal, on Sundays, and Show do Milhão, on Fridays. He also revealed that he already knew about the cancer by directing some of the episodes live: “And you couldn’t even imagine, it’s a sign that I’m very calm.”

In the publication’s comments, Portiolli received messages of support from colleagues such as Antonia Fontenelle, Eliana, Sônia Abrão and Milton Neves.

The man from Paraná ended the ad with a thank you to his wife, Suzana Marchi, his three children, friends and the doctors responsible for his treatment. Celso stated that he is under the care of oncologist Fernando Maluf, urologist Wladimir Alfer, and his teams at Hospital Albert Einstein.
