In a brief statement via the Palace’s official website, the Queen of Denmark announced some major health news, revealing that she will undergo surgery in February on a long-standing back problem.
The announcement titled: ‘The Queen will undergo surgery’ said, ‘For some time, Her Majesty has been affected by problems with her back and the condition has worsened. After consultation with the specialists, the Queen decided to undergo surgery.”
“The operation is scheduled for Wednesday 22 February at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, where the Queen will also be treated afterwards. Consequently, a longer duration of physical recovery is expected. This means that Her Majesty’s official program in the near future will be postponed, canceled or handled by other members of the Royal Family.”
