The country singer Maurílio, who is a partner with Luiza, died this Wednesday afternoon (29) at the age of 28. The artist had been in the ICU since December 15, after suffering three cardiac arrests as a result of pulmonary thromboembolism.
The musician had been showing a worsening in his clinical condition since the night of this Tuesday (28). The last bulletin, shared this Wednesday morning, informed that he was still hospitalized in serious condition, and had shown another worsening in the last 12 hours.
In a statement released by the artist’s office this afternoon, signed by Dr. Wandervan Antônio Azevedo, the hospital communicates with “great regret” the singer’s death at 4:30 pm. This Wednesday morning, Luana Ramos, wife of the countryman shared an open letter to God.
“Oh God… How easy it is to adore you when everything is going well. How easy it is to forget to thank you too, when everything is going well. Today Maurílio didn’t have a good day, Lord, but I come to thank you for being here. Thank you Jesus for one more day!” she wrote.
Maurílio had a malaise while recording a DVD, in Goiânia (GO), on December 15th, and after suffering three cardiac arrests, he was admitted to Hospital Jardim América, but was transferred to the Instituto Ortopédico de Goiânia (IOG) after present “clinical stability”.
One day after the singer’s transfer, the mother Odaisa Delmonte shared a record alongside his son on his Instagram profile rooting for his recovery. “I miss your smile and your hug. Wake up, son, we’re waiting for you”, he wrote in the caption.
After the incident with the singer, Work Show, the office that handles the duo’s performances, released a statement about the cancellation of two concerts they would do, on December 17th and 18th, in the cities of Sorriso and Glória d’Oeste, both in Mato Grosso.
On December 25th, a photo was posted on the duo’s profile with a Christmas message and thanks for their prayers to Maurilio. “Great health and light in everyone’s hearts and, once again, our thanks for all the prayers, donations and positive energy towards our Maurilio!”
Alongside Luíza, the artist was the owner of great hits such as “S de Saudade” (2020) and “Pode Sumir” (2019). Together, the duo recorded with big names such as Marília Mendonça (1995-2021), Jorge and Gabriel Diniz and Alcione. The singer was born on February 15, in Imperatriz, Maranhão.
