Nicki Minaj proceeds to create her own record label. The rapper revealed the news during a new episode of her Queen Radio show, confirming key details about her new venture, including the first artists she’ll be working with and what fans can expect from the label.

The rapper explained that Paddy Duke will be in charge of repertoire and artists at her record label, whose name she did not reveal. He also noted that the new label will release music “not just rap, or black artists,” but different genres.

Minaj said she is set to work with Nana Fofie, a Ghanaian artist she admires. “I’ve been obsessed with you for a long time now… You have one of the most beautiful voices. One of those warm voices that just comes off effortlessly,” Minaj said. Other artists to be signed to release albums by her label include Tate Kobang, Rico Danna and London Hill, she said. The new label will operate as a subsidiary of Republic Records.
