Influencer Virgínia Fonseca vented this Sunday (5), after being criticized for the price she applied to one of her products. Zé Felipe’s wife was attacked by dozens of fans for charging BRL 200 for a liquid foundation in her portfolio, which made her respond to comments in Instagram stories.
“If we didn’t have this high quality standard, you can be sure that we wouldn’t have built a quarter of what we built”, she vented. “I thought they were going to stop, but they haven’t stopped yet. I’m going to comment on that because it’s funny. The same people who say I can be whatever I want are the ones who try to put me down for launching a product with imported quality”.
Some followers, in the comments of a publication over the weekend, said that national brands charge around R$ 50 reais for a similar product. Virginia, however, argued that her base has superior quality and that of international producers, citing Rihanna and other artists who sell their own makeup.
“Why can they [cobrar esse preço] and I dont? There is no such thing. They influence a lot of people, just like me, correct? The difference is that now you can have a product with imported quality, and it can be national. If I’m able to do it, I’ll do it. Or do you think that making a product with imported quality is cheap?”, he added.
Despite this, Virgínia said that it recorded more than R$ 1.5 million in profit in less than one day of sales. “I’m calm. Whenever someone comes innovating the market, they get high. That’s in any area, with anyone”.
