Shakira reportedly plans to move to Miami in three weeks. Last year, it was revealed she would be making the move with her sons after reaching an agreement with ex-husband Gerard Pique.

Shakira’s desire to move to Miami is believed to have been the main obstacle between the former couple, but it was eventually overcome. Shakira was expected to move to the US at the end of the school year, after pushing back her original departure date in early January due to the health problems of her 91-year-old father, William Mubarak.

The Colombian singer has now set April 1 as a new date for her move, according to the newspaper “El Periodico”. “The only obstacle would be her father’s health and if it deteriorates. “Shakira’s idea is to take advantage of the spring break in the US so that she can travel to Miami with her sons so they can start their classes at their new school.”

Earlier in the year it was revealed that Shakira had been forced to delay her move to America due to her father’s health. Her father was hospitalized last year in Barcelona after a fall. He spent Christmas with his daughter.

Shakira and Pique confirmed last November that they had signed a custody agreement after 12 hours of negotiations. They signed the agreement in a Barcelona court in December.

The couple, who split in May after more than a decade of working together, he said in his joint statement: “We wish to announce that we have signed an agreement that guarantees the well-being of our children and which will be ratified in court as part of a simple formality. Our sole aim is to provide them with the utmost security and protection, and we believe that their privacy will be respected.

We appreciate the interest shown and hope that the children will be able to continue their lives with the necessary privacy in a safe and calm environment.”

Shakira said in her first TV interview that she came out of her painful breakup stronger and that she now feels self-sufficient. The artist said that in the past she had believed the “story” that a woman needs a man, but claimed: “Now I feel complete because I depend on myself.”

The singer didn’t mince words about her ex-husband’s new lover, Clara Chia either, saying: “There is a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.”
