Actor Tim Robbins supported his colleague Woody Harrelson’s call to end COVID-protection protocols on film and television productions in Hollywood.

Sharing a Variety article about Woody Harrelson’s opinion, Tim Robbins tweeted: “Woody’s right. Time for this travesty to end.”

In an interview with The New York Times last month, Woody Harrelson opined that it’s “absurd” that COVID protocols are still in place on Hollywood sets. “I don’t think anyone should have the right to demand that you be forced to be tested, forced to wear the mask and forced to be vaccinated three years later. Let’s just end this nonsense,” he noted.

“It’s not fair for the crews,” he said. “I don’t need to wear the mask. Why should it? Why should they be vaccinated? How is that not up to the individual?… I don’t think we should have mandatory testing, mandatory masking and mandatory vaccination. This is a free country. I’m really talking about the crew. Why can’t I wear a mask? I can take fewer tests. I’m not in the same position they are, but it’s wrong. It’s been three years. To stop,” he stressed.

Robbins expressed similar views last year, pointing out that certain public health precautions could be detrimental to the arts. The actor, artistic director of Los Angeles’ Actors Gang Theatre, said he had problems with theater guidelines.
