Ex-BBB Flay reveals sexual abuse suffered in childhood: ‘We don’t have to be ashamed’

Participating in the BBB 20, Flay is releasing her debut album called “Imperfeita” and one of the 11 songs on this project is an emblematic track in the singer’s life. In the song “Eu Era Só Uma Menina”, the ex-sister reveals sexual abuse. She says she was a victim of violence at the age of 11, in the municipality of Nova Floresta, Paraíba.

“It was liberating. I spent a long period of my life unable to deal with the situation. I came to the conclusion that art could save me. I was not to blame for what had happened. I was a victim. I was an 11-year-old girl, without much information and that his will was not respected.”

The singer acknowledges that it took her a while to understand the story. “Sex education was taboo where I lived. We didn’t bring it up at home or at school and I wanted to kiss an older boy. My ‘no’ was completely ignored as he went along. I had no idea what would come next. follow. It was a horrible feeling because I was invaded and hurt,” explains Flay, who hid the abuse from her family.

Three years ago, she had the opportunity to talk about the trauma, which she had carried alone for many years, but she withdrew. “When I participated in the BBB, the girls brought several topics related to the female universe, but I wasn’t ready to open the game. Society puts it in women’s heads that this is ugly and also holds us responsible in some way. shame and we are not the criminals”, she points out in an interview with Vogue.

Flay, who has lived from music since he was 13, says that the idea of ​​the album is to show his personality. “I’m throwing on the table the evils that were done to me, the mistakes I made with others, and my revenge.
