During 95th Academy Awards the Academy, through the special “In Memoriam” section, paid tribute to all the personalities from the field of cinema, who passed away in the past year.
“They touched our hearts, made us smile and became dear friends to whom we will always be devoted,” said John Travolta, who prefaced the tribute and was particularly moved when he mentioned his co-star Olivia Newton-John. (Olivia Newton-John).
To the sounds of the song “Calling All Angels” by Grammy Award-winning musician Lenny Kravitz, the tribute video was presented on stage, including Ray Liotta, Angela Lansbury, Raquel Wells (Raquel Welch), James Caan (James Caan) and Gina Lollobrigida (Gina Lollobrigida).
Among them were Vangelis Papathanasiou and Irini Papa. The last photo was dedicated to Walter Mirisch, producer and former president of the Academy.
Notably, Vangelis Papathanasiou passed away on May 17, 2022 in Paris, while Irini Papa on September 14.
