Superman returns in a new cinematic adventure. The new movie with the title “Superman: Legacy” will be written and directed by him James Gunn.

“It’s been a long road to this point. “I was offered Superman years ago, I initially turned it down because I didn’t have a way that was unique, fun and emotional and gave Superman the dignity he deserves,” Gunn said in a tweet, posting a sketch of the hero. “Then I saw a way, …how both his aristocratic parents from Krypton and his farming parents from Kansas influence who he is and the choices he makes.”

He also announced that the film will premiere on July 11, 2025, a special day for him. “I lost my dad almost three years ago. He was my best friend. He didn’t understand me when I was a kid, but he supported my love of comics and my love of film, and I wouldn’t be making this movie now without him,” James Gunn emphasized.

According to Variety, the film will be Gunn-Saffron’s first major film release at the helm of DC Studios, and the film’s cast is expected with great interest.
