Sharon Stone recently opened up about her experience with breast cancer and the surgery she underwent to remove a large tumor in her breast. More specifically, participating in a fundraiser for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, the 65-year-old actress emphasized how important it is for women to be examined, while also talking about her own experience.

The actress said: “I was told I had breast cancer because I had a tumor that was bigger than my breast.” The famous actress revealed that she was prepared to remove her breast if necessary, however, she later learned that the tumor was benign. “I went to the hospital and said ‘if you open me up and it’s cancer, please take both of my breasts,'” she added.

As is known, her health adventure did not end there. She underwent surgery to remove tissue from her breasts, and revealed a plastic surgeon gave her larger breast implants without her consent.

But beyond that, the actress made another revelation. She herself, when she received the Courage Award during the Women’s Cancer Research Fund ceremony, noted: “I know you have to work and understand that managing money is difficult. I’m technically an idiot, but I can write a check. And right now I know what’s going on. I just lost half my money in this banking thing and that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t come,” before going on to talk about the recent death of her brother Patrick Stone at age 57 from heart disease.

“My brother just died, and that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be here. It’s not an easy time for any of us. This is a difficult time for the world, but I’m telling you, I’m not going to have a politician tell me what I can and can’t do,” he said, adding: “How I can and can’t live, and what’s the value of of my life and who is not. So get up. Stand up and say what you’re worth. I challenge you. That’s courage.”
