Ana Beatriz Nogueira on sclerosis: ‘I saw the urgency of not wasting time with nonsense’

Success in the soap opera “Um Lugar ao Sol” (Globo) as the tramp Elenice, actress Ana Beatriz Nogueira, 54, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 12 years ago. Initially, she stated that she suffered because of the lack of information about the disease.

“Until you understand that berimbau is not a flute, you suffer […] People are scared by the name, but sclerosis means inflammation. It’s a cognitive disease, but I’m obedient to treatment. After initial cognitive bouts, in these 12 years I have had nothing,” said Nogueira in an interview with O Globo newspaper.

The actress added that receiving the diagnosis made her change the way she sees life. “I got faster. It brought me an urge not to waste time on nonsense,” she said, who has a mild form of sclerosis.

In the interview, Ana Beatriz Nogueira also spoke about her friendship with Lícia Manzo, author of “Um Lugar ao Sol”, and to whom the actress attributes Elenice’s success. “It’s all there [no texto dela]”, he said.

Nogueira recalled that they have been friends since adolescence. “We always had a secret dream of being fitness. I remember that, at the age of 17, we used to go to Barra in the morning with that project of being healthy, swimming in the sea, sunbathing. These projects lasted for two years. weeks [risos]. “She’s a bit of an endangered person. With a vocation for the theater, for the stage, and I admire that a lot. She doesn’t expect it to happen, she’s always producing, doing interesting projects. She’s one of the greatest Brazilian actresses of all times”, added.
