The famous actor, according to court documents, agreed to pay $400,000 a month in alimony to his wife
On June 29, 2012 Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes they divorced after five years of marriage, causing an “earthquake” in Hollywood. Their daughter Suri, now 16 years old, was just five years old when her parents decided to go their separate ways.
However, according to international media reports, the famous actor has been seeing his daughter for a decade! Suri has now started applying to colleges with her mother’s help, but her famous dad has no involvement in his child’s life.
His ex-wife, Katie, was given sole custody of Suri, and according to their divorce papers, Tom Cruise agreed to pay $400,000 a month in child support until his daughter turns 18.
Suri hasn’t seen her ‘Mission Impossible’ star father in a decade after he disappeared when his ex-wife refused to convert to Scientology.
In 2012, the Hollywood star said he was deeply saddened by Katy’s desire for a divorce. “Her primary concern remains, as it always has been, the best interests of her daughter,” the actress’ lawyer said.
A representative for Cruise, who was in Iceland filming the sci-fi movie Oblivion at the time, said, among other things: “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and focused on his three children.”
The actress filed documents in New York citing “irreconcilable differences.” She asked for legal custody of her daughter and an amount of child support from her husband, TMZ reported.
Katie also sought property division in the divorce papers, although there is a substantial prenuptial agreement based on California law. Cruise is believed to have “not seen” the divorce… coming.
