THE Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends for many years, have worked together in the cinema and won an Oscar together.

Now they’ve revealed they even shared a bank account early in their careers. The duo appeared on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” (via CNBC) and revealed that they had a joint bank account in the late 1980s in order to fund auditions to launch their acting careers.

“It was unusual, but we needed the money for the auditions,” Damon said, calling it “a weird thing in hindsight.”

“We wanted to help each other and be there for each other,” Affleck said. “It was like, ‘You’re not going to be alone. I’m not going to leave you alone. We’re going to go out and do this together.'”

Whenever Affleck or Damon closed a role, the money from the job went into their joint bank account. As Damon explained: “As long as one of us had money, we knew the power wasn’t going to go out. After I did 1992’s “Geronimo,” we had 35 grand in the bank. We knew we’d be fine for a year.”

Of course there were rules, but they were kind of loose. “The money allowed us to go to New York [για οντισιόν]. We were allowed to take $10 and play video games. We were allowed to buy beer,” Damon said.

“I love working with this man. I love hanging out with him,” Affleck later said of Damon. “If you can work with great people, who are also good people, it’s much more rewarding personally and professionally.”
