“If you take the best elements from every Greek island and put them into one, then that destination might well be Naxos,” says the popular British newspaper The Sun for the largest island of the Cyclades.

The columnist who had visited Naxos at the invitation of the Municipality, is impressed that here Mother Nature has the first say in a mythical place that is more economical than Mykonos or Santorini and that offers an abundance of travel experiences such as hiking, gastronomy and sea sunset tours. The Sun newspaper, which published the extensive tribute along with its corresponding website, is considered one of the most influential media outlets in the world with tens of millions of readers.

In parallel with the reports in international media, the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades participated in the international tourism exhibition ITB 2023 in Berlin at the South Aegean Region pavilion, where scheduled appointments were organized with specialized bloggers and journalists from European markets, while useful contacts were also made with tours operators from Australia and Asia.

“After a tourist year with increased traffic, the messages we receive for the coming season are equally optimistic. In fact, it took place during the three-day period of Halloween and Shrove Monday, when the island had considerable traffic”, pointed out the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of Naxos and Small Cyclades, Vangelis Katsaras.
