Born in 1978 in Lund, Sweden, Stenbeck has worked as a poet, literary critic and editor. Along the way, he began working with 3D modeling software to create in his mind’s eye the world he described in his poems. In his digital backdrops he combines elements of nature such as sky, sea, clouds and flowers with neon rays and colorful balloons. Using CGI, the resulting photographs are a mix of reality and dream, conscious and unconscious. “Having classical art history as a basis, my art updates old conventions into something more contemporary and accessible by challenging conventional structures and concepts,” he comments.
