Isabella Santoni, 27, has a sweet way of describing the visceral Viviane of the series “Dom”, whose second season was recently released on Amazon Prime Video. She points to the middle-class young woman, who chooses to live a life of crime in Rio de Janeiro in the 2000s, as a turning point in her nine-year career.

“I always try to see my characters as human”, she tells the F5. “Does Viviane have a strong plot? She does. But I can’t classify her as a bad person or a good one, as a young lady or a villain. Perhaps she is the character that most deviates from any pattern I’ve played so far. It was an intense and intense dive. It moved me a lot to understand the character.”

As the episodes are gradually being made available on the streaming platform, she says she cannot say much about the plot. However, she anticipates that the public will have even more reasons to hate Viviane in the current season. “I can only say that she is the piece that will make Dom return to the life of crime”, says the actress.

Despite still having a season to go, Santoni has already said goodbye to Viviane. Is that the third and final year of “Dom” (still no premiere forecast) has already been recorded. “It’s hard to say goodbye to a four-year job, even more so in a super production with more than 240 countries, 38 languages and an absurd scope”, he says. “But on the last day of shooting, I got home and thought, ‘I’ll never do Vivi again’ (laughs).”

The actress, however, is not yet ready to let go. “I don’t want to think about it right now!” she says of the parting. She prefers to follow along with the fans the development of the series that stars alongside Gabriel Leone. “I’m in this collective anxiety of waiting for the scenes of the next episodes”, she says.

In addition to the Prime Video series, Santoni is looking forward to the premiere of the fourth season of “A Division”, on competitor Globoplay. “I think it’s wonderful to work here, work there”, he comments. “I don’t see that as a negative, no. It’s good for the market and the more job opportunities, the better for everyone.”

She only evades the subject when asked if she will soon return to work on a Globo soap opera – the last one she participated in was “Orgulho e Paixão”, shown in 2018. .
