The actor José Mayer updated, this Tuesday (4), his state of health. After being hospitalized on March 17, the artist revealed that he was discharged at the end of March and that he is completely recovered. In the video, released on his profile on social networks, Mayer denies that he had a “psychotic break”.
“I didn’t have any diagnosis of psychotic break as it was published”, he said, referencing vehicles that would have reported the occurrence. “I thank the doctors and health professionals, the affection of the public and the press who, aware of their responsibility, were ready to report the official information released by my advisory. The nefarious and pernicious media does not deserve a response”.
According to the actor, he had a relapse of the autoimmune disease, Granulomatosis with polyangiitis, in mid-February. “I was hospitalized again on March 17 so that, with the guidance of the medical team that has been with me since the beginning, I could withdraw the strong medication that started in February”, he added.
Accused of having sexually abused a costume designer backstage at Globo, in 2017, during the soap opera “A Lei do Amor”, Mayer was removed from the station’s dramaturgy productions. In January 2019, Globo and the actor ended their partnership after more than 35 years.
