Influencer Ste Mecco, 19, has been the target of attacks on social media after sharing a video to TikTok dancing beside her mother’s bed in a hospital. This Thursday (6), she used social media to explain that she recorded the video of her mother still alive, on December 30th.
Ste said that her mother had been battling cancer for a year and had gone through ups and downs. According to her, her mother was her biggest supporter and, before recording to publish on TikTok, she asked and she authorized it.
“I never imagined that she would die the next day. She was conscious, we put on the music she loved to play, we played with her, we talked and, even though she didn’t speak, she responded! “, he said crying in the video posted on social media.
Ste said that he recorded the video with his brother’s help in the hope that one day his mother would be able to watch it and say “I went through it and now I’m fine”. According to her, “unfortunately” her mother died on the 31st and published the video as a tribute.
“I never imagined the repercussion… She was always an optimistic, happy person and always faced problems with a smile. She was my number one fan, she recorded with me, recorded me, supported me in everything. I posted the stories as a thank you to the wonderful woman she was and thanks to his teaching and encouragement I was growing”, explained the influencer.
The influencer criticized “gossip sites” that took the video published in the stories out of order and disclosed that she celebrates views with her dead mother. Ste posted more videos on Instagram dancing with her mom and brother dancing, but turned off the comments.
“It was our dream to grow up on social media. When her video blew up I thought, ‘she did this’. It’s what she always wanted. But unfortunately the internet is cruel and people are horrible!! Many understood and are supporting me, the minority is trying to bring me down.”
Sought by F5 to comment on the attacks, the influencer did not respond until the publication of this report.
