After last year’s appearances in Crete and Thessaloniki, this year they visit Athens to prove that they are going through one of the best phases of their turbulent career
The legendary band “The Sisters Of Mercy” will visit our country this summer, in order to perform a concert on Sunday, July 23, in the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, as part of the “Death Disco Athens Open Air Festival”.
After last year’s performances in Crete and Thessaloniki, this year they visit Athens to prove that they are going through one of the best phases of their turbulent career. Temple of Love, More, Alice, Lucretia (my reflection), Dominion, Vision Thing, This Corrosion and so many other old ones, which together with their new songs, and of course the mythical figure of Andrew Eldritch dominating the stage, will put… fire in Technopolis.
The famous British band headlines a total of 14 bands that will take to the two stages of the two-day event, which will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July.
Among them stand out the popular Irish-British electronic music duo VNV Nation. Since they first started, in the mid-90’s, the Greek public embraced them with warmth and they in turn, at every opportunity, reciprocated with great records succeeding one another with unforgettable concerts.
The culmination, however, of their special relationship with the Greek public was their visit in 2016, during the memorial season, where they came not only without pay, but paying all their own expenses and donating all the proceeds of the concert to charity institutions, in an unprecedented movement of support and solidarity.
With a brand new album in their luggage, ‘Electric Sun’, headline appearances at all the important dark alternative festivals in Europe and a charismatic performer, the one and only Ronan Harris, who doesn’t allow anyone to remain unparticipated in their concerts, VNV come ready for an explosive live.
