After images of the autopsy of Marília Mendonça’s body circulate on the internet, the singer’s family will go to court to punish anyone responsible for disclosing the photos. The family’s lawyer, Robson Cunha, said that Facebook and Google will be the targets of actions “to try to curb any type of disclosure and hold them accountable” for sharing the images.

To the program Fofocalizando, from SBT, Cunha stated that the first step is to curb the repercussion of the images. “The initial crime was committed, which was the dissemination of this content, but the dissemination of this material is also a crime. People have to understand the seriousness of this”, he said.

O F5 found that Google will act to remove content that violates platform policies from the air. Sought, the advice of Google reported that “the company has nothing to comment”. Meta, owner of Facebook, did not respond until the last update of this text.

Asked about possible actions against the Government of Minas Gerais, the lawyer said that the family is waiting for clarification on the case. “So far, we have received absolutely nothing official from the state government. Initially, we need a public manifestation of what actually happened. This is the first step. The second step is to hold accountable not only the agent who committed this crime, as well as the state itself,” he explained.

The Minas Gerais Civil Police instituted an administrative procedure to investigate the facts. “The Civil Police informs that the system where the investigative documents are stored is auditable and that the Police Information and Intelligence Superintendence (SIIP) is already carrying out surveys with a view to identifying all accesses to the referred report”, says an excerpt from the note sent to the F5.

The family’s lawyer reiterated the fact that the investigation from which the photos were taken was restricted to a few people, which would make it easier to identify the culprit. “It is a confidential police investigation and, even more, very few people have access. This content is not released, even for third parties from the police who want to access it”, he explained. “Whoever did it did it through restricted access. So it’s easy to identify.”

Cunha reported that it was Murilo Huff, ex-boyfriend and father of the singer’s son, who warned him about the leaked photos. “He, very shocked, very shaken on the phone, gave me the news that he was getting some pictures,” he said.

The lawyer also spoke about the efforts made by him and Marília Mendonça’s family to prevent the leak of images shortly after the accident, in November 2021. “I got in touch with those responsible for the IML and asked that the body not leave the IML while I did not arrive. They understood, understood the situation and waited. The reason why I had made this request was precisely so that, leaving the IML, one would not lose control of everything that was being done.”

Cunha explained the procedures adopted at the time to prevent photos of the singer’s body from being released. “We placed an escort accompanying the funeral home’s car. At the funeral home, we collected all the cellular equipment, including that of the owner of the place. We turned off all the cameras and monitoring of the place. exposure of any image associated with the post-accident.”

“Until yesterday, we thought we had done a job respecting Marília’s image”, he added.
