Blackout recital in Russia. The management of the Bolshoi State Academic Theater withdrew from the theater’s repertoire the ballet “Nureyev” directed by Kirill Serebrennikov due to the “LGBTQ propaganda” law. This was reported by the Interfax agency, citing the general director of the Bolshoi Theater, Vladimir Urin.

“The work ‘Nureyev’ was withdrawn from the repertoire in connection with the signed law (…) which clearly defines the issues related to the propaganda of non-traditional values. (…) Of course, as soon as the law was signed, the theater made the decision to remove this production from the repertoire” Urin stated.

A description of the ballet is still posted on the Bolshoi Theater website. Several hundred dancers from all creative ensembles of the theater took part in the production, referred to in this description.
