Journalist Daniel Lian, TV reporter for Jovem Pan News, had a pleasant surprise this Friday (21st), in London, England. As he prepared to go live, he was approached by Bono Vox and The Edge, members of U2, who wanted to know more about the reporter’s life.
“When I said I was a Brazilian journalist, the duo broke into a wide smile”, narrated Lian, in a publication on social networks. “They talked to me in a unique simplicity, as if we were old friends. Curious, they wanted to know what I did and what my job is like. The worldwide success of these guys is no coincidence. They deserve every fan for what they do, especially for their humility and for being incredible”.
In his account, Lian says he was surprised by the approach, as he was humbly nudged by the duo. “I started to admire them in an even more affectionate way. Those that we often see as insurmountable, in fact can be the ones that donate the greatest dose of humanity”, he believes.
At the end of the conversation, the journalist says that he tried to ask for an interview, but the two dropped a smile and greeted him, following through the streets of London. “Still in doubt if it was a dream”, concludes Lian.
Bono Vox is 62 years old and is the leader of the group U2. In addition to being a musician, he is remembered for his environmental activism. In 2011, during the band’s visit to Brazil, Bono took Greenpeace to the group’s presentations in São Paulo, with a special stand at the venue.
