Leon pursued financial independence at a young age, reporting that she paid her own college tuition
Lourdes Leonher daughter Madonna, opened up about her relationship with her mother, whom she calls a “control freak” in a recent interview. Leon revealed that at times she felt overwhelmed by her mother’s constant need for control.
“My mother is such a control freak and she controls me my whole life,” she said. “I needed to be completely independent from her once I graduated high school,” Lourdes revealed.

Leon sought financial independence at an early age, reportedly paying her own college tuition and later renting an apartment in Brooklyn. Despite feeling the need to be independent, she developed a greater appreciation for her mother’s hard work and dedication. “She’s probably the hardest worker I’ve ever seen,” he added.
Madonna has spoken several times about what it’s like to be a mom and the challenges you face when raising children. “I had this funny idea that when your kids get older, they learn to take care of themselves and it gets easier,” she said in an interview in 2017. “Actually, the older they get, the harder it gets, because now they’re adults and they really need guidance.”

Madonna was clear about her parenting philosophy, declaring: “I’m in charge! I’m the boss! I’m not the popular parent.” Madonna has a total of six children.
