After suffering the third armed robbery in a year and a half in São Paulo, Ivan Moré decided to vent about the lack of security in the city. The journalist and former presenter of Grupo Globo (left the station in 2019) made a video detailing the violence suffered a week ago near his home, in the neighborhood of Brooklin. Ivan was approached by two bikers who took all of his belongings.

“I was reflecting two days ago whether or not to post this video and today I came to the conclusion that I couldn’t pretend that nothing happened. [o vídeo] serve as a warning for people who live in the city of São Paulo”, began the journalist. “I was robbed for the third time in São Paulo and then I ask myself: is there something wrong with me or is there not something wrong with the security of the city?”.

Ivan told how the robberies suffered in other regions had happened before and confessed to feeling very disappointed in recent times. “It makes me sad that, in addition to the risk of life itself, we have this permanent feeling of insecurity… For example, I don’t go out on the street in São Paulo anymore, never on foot. Those contents that I always did talking to the people around the city, I’m going to stop doing it. Because I can’t do it anymore”, he explained.

He also commented on the “feeling of impotence and fragility due to insecurity”. Moré demanded a proposal from the authorities to put an end to the violence. “I pay my taxes, I follow the law and do everything that has to be done. in more policing, in cameras that guarantee the safety of citizens is one of the steps. Ok. But, the main thing is perhaps the investment in education so that we generate opportunities for those who do this type of thing”, he opined.

Ivan Moré then proceeded with his line of reasoning about investing in education. “I’m not defending criminals, but we live in a country that is mostly poor (80% of the population is poor) and some, unfortunately, choose the path of crime due to lack of education, opportunities. country we live in? Until when will the people who are responsible for transforming the country a little fairer, nobler and more decent, in fact, take the measures?”, concluded the journalist.
