Father Fábio de Melo jokes after dancing ‘Lepo Lepo’: ‘A believer’s life is not easy’

by

Father Fábio de Melo, 50, was on the program Domingão com Huck (Globo) this Sunday (9) and became one of the most talked about topics on social media. All this because the singer Márcio Victor, from Psirico, made the religious dance the choreography of the hit “Lepo Lepo” (2014).

Realizing the repercussion, the priest took to social media to talk about the situation. He shared videos published by journalist Evaristo Costa, 45, who joked about the fact that Fábio de Melo did not know the choreography of the song.

“Hell awaits you, Evaristo,” he wrote in a video. “The believer’s life is not easy…”, he said in another publication, also made in Stories. The religious became part of the fixed cast of Believe in Who Wants, alongside Flávia Alessandra and Luís Miranda.

On social media, netizens also commented on the episode. “In the role I’m Father Fábio de Melo!”, wrote one. “I feel like Father Fábio de Melo when I go out with my friends,” said a second.

“Evaristo Costa and Father Fábio de Melo making fun of each other is my best pastime to see each other”, said yet another internet user. “Me just laughing on the subway with Father Fábio de Melo being coerced into dancing ‘Lepo Lepo’,” wrote a fourth.

Recently, singer Elisa Lucinda left two comments on a photo of Father Fábio de Melo stating that she does not believe in the celibacy of the religious. With the rise of controversy, the artist posted a video on her Instagram to apologize for her comment on the post.

“I would have liked to say what I said in person, because I wanted to raise a discussion about celibacy. I know many young people in this country and very interesting people who don’t want to exercise the Catholic life due to celibacy”, began the artist in the video.

“I want to say that this faith cannot antagonize sexuality. It was a way of saying it, and as I think Fábio is very modern and, I think I failed without talking to him, but I understood that it could be a way of discussing it”, continued at the time.

“We relate to each other as artists, citizens and thinkers at the same time. We both talk a lot today”, he comments on the relationship with Fábio de Melo. “It wasn’t a hateful post, nor was it bigoted,” he said.
