Gwyneth Paltrow recalled her three-year relationship with Brad Pitt and how painful the separation process was. She claims, in an interview with the Call Her Daddy podcast, that the decision not to proceed with the engagement came from her, as she did not feel ready for the commitment.
The couple was together from 1994 to 1997, and met backstage in the movie “Seven- The Seven Deadly Sins”. The actress says the romance was love at first sight. “It was the right thing [a fazer] back then, but it was very difficult. There were a number of things that happened, he was nine years older than me, so he knew what he wanted, he was ready… it was one of those difficult things where I felt like, ‘Oh my God, not only am I not ready, as I’m not living up to standards again.’ It was a familiar thing I felt about myself.”
Stating that he was heartbroken after the end, Gwyneth said that the marriage proposal was made by Brad during a trip to Argentina, but that six months later, she decided to end it because she felt immature.
“When I look back, I really was a kid. I hadn’t explored who I was, what was important to me, what my boundaries were. I didn’t really come into my own until I was 40. I didn’t even know how to listen to my instincts and acting from that place of what was right for me. I always acted in accordance with what was right for everyone else.”
The actress also had a three-year relationship with Ben Affleck and responded that the two ex-boyfriends were excellent in bed. “With Brad I had great chemistry, he was the love of my life, sweet. Ben was, like, technically excellent. I can’t believe my daughter is hearing this!”
