The former daughter-in-law of Rita Lee (1947-2023), screenwriter Camila Fremder moved fans of the singer later this Tuesday (9). She said that her son, Arthur, five years old, decided to write a farewell letter to his grandmother, who died the night before. The boy, who is Antônio Lee’s son, even asked to put the correspondence in a balloon for the message to reach the artist.
“Thank you for so many messages. Arthur wrote a letter to grandma Rita and will tie it in a balloon that will fly to her”, wrote Camila, who soon won several comments about Arthur’s tribute. “Grandma Rita is going to have the biggest party with this balloon”, commented an internet user. “I thought it was a privilege to have Rita as a grandmother. But, it is really a privilege to have Arthur as a grandson. Grandma will love this balloon!”, added another follower.
Camila Fremder also paid tribute to her ex-mother-in-law on her Instagram as soon as the singer’s death was announced. “Thank you, grandma Rita”, she limited the words in the caption of the publication with several photos of the boy next to the singer.
Rita Lee, 75, died on the night of this Monday (8), after fighting lung cancer since 2021. The family confirmed the death on the singer’s social networks. She died at her home in São Paulo, in the capital of São Paulo.
The wake will be open to the public at the Planetarium in Ibirapuera Park, this Wednesday (10), from 10 am to 5 pm. “According to Rita’s wishes, her body will be cremated. The ceremony will be private.
