Theater, video art and immersive beats. The new star of the Polish theater, the director Lukasz Tarkowski comes to the Roof with Rohtko, a spectacle-performance, on the occasion of the most famous fraud case in the history of art. What is art after all? And who defines its value in the age of NFTS?

A contemporary Polish director, Łukasz Twarkowski, who is beginning to conquer Europe with his performances, with a long collaboration with the iconic Polish director Krystian Lupa, is introduced to the Greek audience on the Main Stage of Stegi from May 25 to 28 with Rohtko. A monumental spectacle-experience, on the border of theatre, cinema and video art, an iconoclastic show-dive into the haven of contemporary art, with the expressionist Mark Rothko at the center.

And if you noticed the anagram in the title of the show and Rothko’s name, this is not a mistake, but a deliberate falsification by the creators of the work, since at the heart of the work is a true story of forgery of a work of art: a few years ago a painting by pioneering abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko sold for an astronomical $8.5 million. Except, as it turned out, the painting was fake. One of the biggest fraud scandals in the history of modern art breaks out.
