Marisa Orth and Pitty attend Rita Lee’s seventh day mass in São Paulo

The mass on the seventh day of Rita Lee’s death took place this Tuesday (16), at the Parish of São Pedro and São Paulo, in the capital of São Paulo. The ceremony was open to the public and broadcast online. The location was chosen for the relationship between the sacred and nature, a space with a very extensive green area.

The ceremony was attended by the children Beto Lee, João Lee and Antônio Lee, as well as her husband Roberto de Carvalho, who stayed by Rita’s side for 47 years. Actress Marisa Orth attended the ceremony. When she learned of the singer’s death, she posted a tribute on the networks. “I love you, thank you. All my life, you in it.”

Presenter Astrid Fontenelle and singer Pitty also attended. Rita Lee’s ex-daughter-in-law, Camila Fremder, arrived accompanied by Antonio.

During the ceremony, Father Antonio Torres made references to the songs “Mania de Você” and “Ovelha Negra”.

He told Roberto, sitting next to his children in the front row of pews, that the first song demonstrates a “necessary conjugality between couples, which should always be [e não apenas momentânea]” and also said that “Jesus was a black sheep”.

The singer discovered lung cancer in 2021 and has since been undergoing treatment. She died on Monday (8), aged 75, at her home in São Paulo. In an interview with the program Fantástico (Globo), Roberto stated that the doctors predicted three months of life when diagnosing her.

“The doctors predicted a survival of three to four months. She approached the business with stoicism,” he said. And she told about the moments at Rita’s side in recent times, when the family set up a hospital structure in the apartment.

“She wanted to live, she didn’t want to leave. Until the end, she never wanted to leave. I said to her, ‘I want to change places with you, because you have much more to do than me. it looked like a little child, a little bird. And it stopped. In peace”.
