Willie Nelson will release his memoir, Energy Follows Thought: The Stories Behind My Songs. In the book for which he collaborated with David Ridge and Mickey Raphael, 160 of the compositions of the country legend are analyzed.

In addition to first-time photos of the artist, the book showcases Nelson’s song ideas from throughout his career, from compositions for which he was paid just $50 as a Nashville songwriter to his solo hits that became classics.

The book will delve into Willie Nelson’s family moments and relationships with Patsy Cline, Ray Charles, Dolly Parton and other artists, as well as his personal life.

The “Energy Follows Thought: The Stories Behind My Songs” it follows his 2016 book Pretty Paper, again co-written with David Ridge.

Nelson continues to be a mainstay of the US music industry. Just last month, he celebrated his 90th birthday with Snoop Dogg, Neil Young and The Chicks in concert that will be brought to the big screen in June. The book will be released on October 31 by HarperCollins.
