“The Flash” opens in theaters on June 16
During an interview with Esquire Middle East, the film’s director “The Flash” Andy Muschietti revealed that and Nicolas Cage will make a brief appearance (cameo) in the film. Cage will appear as Superman reprising his role in Tim Burton’s failed Superman Lives 25 years ago.
“Nick was absolutely wonderfulMuschietti said. “Although the role was a cameo, it fell flat on my face… I dreamed of working with him all my life. I hope I can work with him again soon“, the director added.
How Cage’s Superman contributes to the plot of “The Flash” remains to be seen. The film takes place in the DC multiverse, which explains Michael Keaton’s return as Batman/Bruce Wayne for the first time since he starred in Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). Ben Affleck will also reprise his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne from Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
During the same interview, Cage said: “I don’t need to be in the MCU, I’m Nic Cage».
