BBB 22: Paulo André was a semifinalist at the Olympics and became a father in 2021

Olympic athlete Paulo André Camilo, 23, is one of the confirmed names for the Camarote group of the 22nd edition of Big Brother Brasil (Globo). He was a semifinalist in the 100 meters at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and won silver at the 2019 Pan American Games.

Born in Santo André, he is the son of former sprinter Carlos Camilo, who represented Brazil in the 1980s and is currently his coach. In September 2020, he became a father with the birth of his first child, who was also named Paulo André. The arrival of the son was announced on his Instagram profile.

His name was among the most recent guesses by BBB fans and viewers, after Boninho’s tip that showed participants’ hands. The athlete was present at Farofa da Gkay, which took place in December 2021, at the Marina Park Hotel, in Fortaleza.

He claims to be driven by challenges and new experiences. The athlete considers himself calm and does not usually expose himself on social networks, but he fears not being able to maintain his strategy with living inside the house. “Playing the game I think I can do it, but playing with people is going to be my main challenge,” he said.

Paulo André also says that he likes to dare in his looks with creativity, and he sees the BBB as an opportunity to go beyond sports, as he is interested in the artistic universe. The Olympic athlete is connected to music and plays the guitar and drums.

In addition to Paulo André, actor Arthur Aguiar, surfer Pedro Scooby and dancer Brunna Gonçalves were also confirmed in the Camarote group. The popcorn group has names like Luciano, Laís, Jessilane, Eliezer, Eslovênia, Lucas, Bárbara, Rodrigo, Natália and Vinícius.

The edition starts next Monday (17) and marks the debut of Tadeu Schmidt in the presentation and repeats the dynamics of bringing famous and anonymous people to compete for the prize.
