One more controversy in which the name of the singer Gusttavo Lima is involved. Now, he has been accused of being at fault for the alleged dismissal of a security guard at a show he played in Campina Grande, Paraíba. That’s because the sertanejo gave alcohol to the professional and decreed: “If they fire you, I’ll take you with me”.
According to columnist Fabia Oliveira, that’s exactly what happened. The security guard would have been offended in a message group by the contracting team and then disconnected from that outsourced company that provided services to the São João event. When contacted, Lima’s advisors say they received information that he was not fired. The professional could not be reached for comment.
At the same show, another issue drew attention. The local accordion player Flavio José complained on stage that his performance had been suppressed. Supposedly, this was so that Lima could spend more time singing.
“If there’s any song left in the repertoire that you’re thinking of listening to, and you’re not going to listen,
it’s not my fault. I don’t have any shows to rush out of here to do. It wasn’t my idea,” he lamented.
In a note, the organization of the event apologized to the artist, claiming that there was a schedule error and that this had nothing to do with Lima.
The city hall of Campina Grande, on Twitter, also apologized. “Our solidarity and sincere apologies. We respect all artists and want to make an event that values our culture and the 40-year tradition of the Greater São João in the World. This is an edition with the largest number of regional attractions”, posted the city profile.
