• Harvest, by Dimitris Dimitriadis directed by Grigoris Karatinakis at Theater 104

The show “Harvest” by Dimitris Dimitriadis is presented for the last time tonight directed by Grigoris Karatinakis at Theater 104. Two couples who each have a child and a bachelor are in crisis. They are united by a lifestyle of enjoyment in the midst of their empty selves. Having opposing cultures, different religions and alternative values, they vacation at the edge of the world, in the enchanting Acapulco, enjoying their endless drinks in the pool of a super-luxury hotel… “57 stars” as these noble “mausoleums” of the blasé life are advertised. Lounging bored, Rumi and Zuzu, Assur and Lycra and Bona seem to wallow in their cynical boredom with the illusion that they are becoming partakers of their earthly Paradise, when in essence they are relegating themselves to their own personal Hell. The enjoyment of exotic drinks, the tanning of the skin and soul, the philosophical and ideological confrontations, compose a black situation – a hymn to the unsatisfied, with the motto “life does not let me live…”. They play: Vivian Kontomari, Yiannis Siamsiaris, Elena Marsidou, Konstantinos Passas, Iro Kissandraki.

  • Quelle Catastrophe!: A performance-reading on Beckett’s play at the Thision Theater by Andrea Manda

Andreas Mantas presents, for the last time tonight at the Thision Theatre, his improvised performance titled “Quelle Catastrophe!”. The “Quelle Catastrophe!” is a research reading on the work of Samuel Beckett. An improvised performance-partnership of the actor Andreas Mandas and the musician Telemachus Moussa, with a parallel narration on stage, by the writer-translator, George-Ikaros Babasakis. Samuel Beckett did not tell us what happened to us but forced us to turn underground to discover what really happened and what is going to happen to us. It forced us to face ourselves. The work describes this perpetual return to the true self, entangled in collective futility. That’s why his heroes are ghosts, humble, with their memories emerging into the light and then disappearing…
