Six film crew members were injured while filming a dangerous scene in the sequel to the Oscar-winning movie Gladiator in Morocco, according to reports.

An accident occurred during the filming of a stunt scene for ‘Gladiator 2’ in which several crew members were seriously injured,” a spokesperson for Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the film, told CNN and Variety.

Medical teams arrived on the scene and were able to act quickly so that those injured received the necessary care immediately. They are all in stable condition and continue to receive treatment“, he said.

Four of the injured crew members remain in the hospital and are being treated for burns, according to Variety. None of the actors were injured.

The first Gladiator movie won five Academy Awards in 2001, including Best Picture, Best Costumes, Best Sound and Best Visual Effects. Russell Crowe also won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his leading role in the film.

The Australian actor is not expected to return for the film’s sequel, which also stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington.
