Actor Treat Williams died at age 71 near his ranch in Vermont. According to the international media, the fatal traffic accident occurred on Monday afternoon, when the motorcycle on which the famous actor was riding was swept away by a car driven by a 35-year-old driver.

Vermont State Police have not made any arrests following the crash, which happened on Highway 30 by Long Trail Auto near Dorset. Williams, known for his roles in the movies “Everwood” and “Hair,” was enjoying his weekend mowing the lawn at his $1 million Vermont home just hours before the tragedy.

He was married to the actress Pam Van Sant and together they had two children, while the actor often “uploaded” on social media photos of his idyllic life in the countryside for his fans.

The actor, as reported by the Daily Mail, was airlifted to the Albany Medical Center in upstate New York, where he died a short time later. The man who pulled the actor over was driving a 2008 Honda Element. He was trying to make a left turn into a parking lot when he hit Williams. The actor was thrown from his motorcycle, police said.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries from the collision. Police confirmed no one had been arrested as of Monday night, but the investigation is ongoing.
