Singer Rita Lee, who died on May 8 at the age of 75, won a special tribute on the Saia Justa (GNT) program this Wednesday (14): she became the name of the sofa on which various subjects are debated every week.
The idea came from a viewer, Genilson Geraldo. On Twtitter, he suggested paying homage to the artist, who was one of the “skirts” in the program’s early years.
“In addition to her eternal legacy in the world of music, art and poetry, she was also a great icon of Saia”, wrote the fan of the rocker.
The presenter Astrid Fontenelle stated that, on the program, the public got to know more about Rita’s thoughts.
At the inauguration of the Rita Lee sofa, the four current owners, Astrid, Bela Gil, Larissa Luz and Gabriela Prioli, toasted with watermelon juice and ginger to the “patron saint of the freedom of the program and the history of the country”.
A plaque with the singer’s name and image was pasted on the sofa and Larissa sang one of the artist’s classics, “Now you’re missing.”
“Hail infinite Rita,” said Astrid.
Between 2002 and 2003, when the singer was part of Saia Justa, the program also had Mônica Waldvogel, Marisa Orth and Fernanda Young (1970-2019) in the lineup.
“It was one of the main things I’ve done in my life,” said the rocker about participating.
She used to knit while discussing current affairs.
