Lori Loughlin, from ‘Three Is Too Much’, has her house invaded and R$ 5.5 million in stolen jewelry

Actress Lori Loughlin, 51, had her home invaded by thieves who stole $1 million worth of jewelry. The information is from TMZ.

According to the website, the crime happened on January 3 and was discovered by a housekeeper. The actress and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were not at their Los Angeles home at the time of the robbery.

According to TMZ, security cameras show the thieves breaking a bedroom window and taking a jewelry box. They were dressed in black and wore masks.

Police are investigating the theft and suspect a gang of South American thieves who allegedly broke into other homes and fled the United States, according to the website. After the robbery, the security of the house was tightened.

Known for her performance in “Full House”, the actress served a two-month prison sentence for having participated in a fraudulent scheme that facilitated the admission of her two daughters to the University of Southern California.

The young women were falsely registered as belonging to the rowing team upon payment of the equivalent of US$ 500,000 (R$ 2.8 million). In March 2019, federal prosecutors indicted nearly 50 people for paying or receiving millions of dollars for participating in college admission fraud. The actress was one of them.

In his defense, at the time of the conviction, Loughlin claimed that he believed he was acting out of love for his daughters, but realized that he only contributed to inequalities in society. “This realization weighs heavily on me,” he said, “and while I wish I could go back and do things differently, I can only take responsibility and move forward.”

Mossimo Giannulli was convicted of the same crime. According to Reuters, like the woman, the designer admitted guilt in the scheme and received five months in prison, a fine of US$ 250,000 (R$ 1.4 million) and 250 hours of community work.

Another actress was also convicted of being part of the same scheme. Desperate Housewives’ Felicity Huffman also pleaded guilty and served a 14-day sentence in a prison facility in the city of Dublin, which is near San Francisco, California. She reportedly paid to falsify her eldest daughter’s entrance exam.
