The firstborn and mother of Gugu Liberato -João Augusto and Maria do Céu, respectively-, and the presenter’s sister, Aparecida Liberato, are willing to take a DNA test to find out whether or not the businessman Ricardo Rocha is the son of the communicator, died in 2019. The trio became aware of the existence of a “post mortem” paternity investigation action at the court hearing on Gugu’s inheritance this Wednesday (21).
“We became aware of this action during the hearing and we are going to evaluate it. Both João and Aparecida will take the exams and whatever is determined by the Justice. Quietly”, he says to the F5 Carlos Regina, lawyer for João Augusto and the estate of Augusto Liberato (Aparecida Liberato is the legal representative).
The process runs in secrecy of Justice and, according to Carlos, the parties have not yet been cited. Gugu’s twin daughters, Sofia and Marina, have also stated, through their lawyer, that they will undergo the examination, if the Court decides.
According to the report by Mônica Bergamo, in the subpoena, the applicant’s mother, identified as Otacília Gomes da Silva, would have met Antonio Augusto Moraes Liberato in the second half of 1973, in a bakery in the neighborhood of Perdizes, São Paulo. She worked as a nanny and maid “at the residence of a Japanese family”, who lived next to the bakery.
Also according to the petition, she discovered the pregnancy in early 1974 and even went to look for Gugu to tell the news. Otacília couldn’t find him anymore and lost contact with that man who would be the father of her child.
Ricardo found out about his father in adolescence and when he reached the age of majority, “he decided to postpone the search for recognition of paternity for the future”. With the death of Gugu, aged 60, and the dispute over the inheritance, the alleged son would have decided to seek his rights, moving the paternity action.
