There was an increase of 172.1% in the number of visitors to the country’s museums in September 2021, as well as an increase in the number of free admission visitors by 155.6% and receipts by 186.8%.
In the first 9 months of last year, there is an increase of 45% in museum visitors, 11.4% in free admission visitors and 123.8% in receipts, given the suspension of museums from March 14, 2020 to June 16, 2020 and gradually from 1 November 2020 to 13 May 2021, implementing measures to address the pandemic.
According to ELSTAT, the number of visitors increased by 157%, free admission by 108.1% and receipts by 194.5% in the archeological sites in September last year.
In the 9 months, there was an increase of 72.1% in visitors, by 23.3% in free admission visitors and by 139.3% in receipts, given the suspension of the operation of the archeological sites from March 14 to May 17, 2020 and from from November 7, 2020 to March 21, 2021 in implementation of measures to address the pandemic.
